Spellz is a fast and fun word game where you tap letters to spell specific words.
But, the letters for the word are falling down the screen, and the longer they fall, the faster they go and the fewer points they give. Plus, there are a LOT of letters to choose from. If you tap the letters in the right order, before the timer runs out, youll move on to the next word. Misspell three words, and the game is over.
As you progress through the game, the words get longer and the challenge gets harder as the letters drop faster and faster.
How far can YOU get?
Spellz is also a great way to LEARN new words as well. When its time to spell a new word, Spellz will pronounce it for you. And, if you dont know the meaning of a word, just tap it and then hit "Show Definition." The game will pause and Spellz will display the dictionary definition for the word. Dismiss the definition, and youre right back in the game!
For an even greater challenge, turn on "Quiz Mode." In Quiz Mode, random letters of each word will be replaced with Question marks. Youll have to rely on your spelling knowledge to correctly spell the word and win the round. (Note that, in Quiz Mode, you cant tap the word for additional options. Because that would show you how to spell the word.)
Note that Spellz looks and plays the same on all size devices. So, for a preview of what Spellz looks and sounds like, see the App Preview video for iPhone 5 [4-inch screen] or iPad.
Parents, Please Note:
Weve made every effort to make Spellz as kid-friendly as possible. But, our dictionary contains over 150,000 words and theres always the possibility that youll run across a word that you find offensive or that you dont want your kids exposed to.
So, in addition to voluntarily rating Spellz "9+", weve:
* Permanently removed those words that you famously cant say on TV. (You know the ones.)
* Permanently removed a bunch of other words and phrases that we wouldnt want OUR kids hearing.
* Added a "Block Word" feature. If Spellz DOES show you a word you find offensive, simply tap the word and then pick the "block word" option. That word wont show up in your copy of Spellz again. You can also block a word and report it back to us for possible exclusion in a future version of Spellz.
Finally, if you are using iOS 8 or later, Spellz includes a "Word of the Day" extension that displays on the Today tab of your lock screen!
Have Fun!
